Take a Ride on a Walla-Walla
Long before there were cross-harbour tunnels or the Star Ferry, Walla-Walla motorised sampans were the major means of transport between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon – so-named from the sound the motor makes when it hits the water. Step back into the romance of old Hong Kong with a 45-minute guided tour aboard these nostalgic vessels, ferrying you across landmarks dotted throughout the Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct where you'll spot traditional shrimp-fishing boats, luxurious yachts and other on-water landmarks.
From The Park Lane Hong Kong, head north on Gloucester Road towards Kingston Street. Cross the road and cut through the small park (Tung Lo Wan Garden), and continue left parallel to Victoria Park Road. Take the stairs up onto the footbridge and cross over to the waterfront side. Get off the footbridge and continue heading east along the waterfront until you reach the Walla-Walla Registration Point. Approx. 15 minutes.
